Web chat is one channel out of nine
Drift was built for the visitor on your marketing site. The buyers you're qualifying today also live on WhatsApp, Instagram DM, SMS and email — and Drift doesn't natively own any of them. Most Drift customers end up paying for three or four other tools to cover the gap.
Pricing is enterprise-only and opaque
Drift has no published pricing and no self-serve trial. You go through sales, get a usage-based quote, and commit annually. For a 10-seat team that just wants to try a sales assistant, that's a four-week procurement cycle before anyone sees the product.
English-first, MENA-blind
Drift AI is excellent at qualifying English-speaking B2B web traffic in North America. It is not built for Gulf Arabic, Egyptian Arabic, or mixed Arabic-English conversations the way buyers in Riyadh, Dubai or Cairo actually write. For regional teams, this is a hard ceiling.
Future is uncertain post-Salesloft
Since the 2024 Salesloft acquisition, Drift's roadmap has been folded into the Rhythm product. Standalone Drift contracts still exist but the product is no longer the strategic priority. Teams renewing in 2026 are reasonably asking what they're committing to.
